  1. The Chandigarh Golf League 2026, also known as CGL-2026, will be held as an 18-hole match play event at The Chandigarh Golf Club. The Opening Ceremony is scheduled for 30.09.2026, with the tournament being conducted from 04.10.2026 to 30.10.2026. Further, 31.10.2026 shall be reserved as a standby date for the Final Match, followed by the Closing Ceremony and Prize Distribution.
  2. The event will be played among the 24 teams, which will be divided into Four groups for the round-robin stage (Group A/B/C/D). In case any team opts out of the league, it will be put up for auction before 12.07.2026.
  3. Knockout Stage: The top 2 teams from each group will qualify for the Quarter Finals.
  4. The base price of the Single digit Handicap players featuring in the CGL Auction will be 40,000 points and 20,000 points for the rest of the players.
  5. The Team Owner should preferably play from the team that they own. In case, they are not a part of the Core Team and appear in the Auction, then their base price will be determined as per their handicap.
  6. The Chandigarh Golf League shall be played in accordance with the Rules of Golf published by the R&A, Local Rules of The Chandigarh Golf Club and any other Conditions of Play set by the Tournament Committee.
Please note that it is the player's responsibility to know the Rules of Golf and the Local Rules currently in force.

For the ease of interpretation, please refer to the following definitions:

CGL MatchA CGL match is played between two CGL teams.
CGL GameA game is played between the playing pairs or singles of opposing teams up to 18-hole match play.
CGL PointsCGL points are earned when a playing pair/singles player of One CGL team beats playing pair / singles of another CGL team. A win carries 1 point, a tied game carries 0.5 point, and a loss carries 0 points.

II.

Conduct of Tournament / CGL 2026

  1. To ensure a smooth conduct of the CGL 2026, the Management of The Chandigarh Golf Club will hire a professional agency to assist in the event's management and execution.

    Technical conduct, including all course markings, tee box & pin placements, will be strictly the responsibility of the professional agency.
  2. Tournament Committee: The Tournament committee under the chairmanship of Dr. Atul Sachdev will be responsible for the conduct and overseeing of the CGL 2026. Constitution of the Tournament Committee and the Tournament Director will be announced prior to commencement of the league.
  3. Organizing Committee:

    In addition, for the overall preparation and smooth conduct of the tournament, an Organizing Committee has be constituted. The Committee shall be responsible for the coordination, supervision, and execution of the tournament and its associated events.

    The members of the Organizing Committee shall not participate in CGL 2026. The Committee shall comprise the following members:

  4. Protest Any protest or appeal submitted to the Organizing Committee must be accompanied by a deposit of ₹10,000 (non refundable) Plus GST at the time of submission. The Submission of any such protest should be received by the Organizing Committee within one hours of Completion of game. The decision of the Organizing Committee shall be final and binding upon all teams and participants, and no further appeal, representation, or escalation shall be entertained thereafter.

    All teams and members are strictly advised to submit any grievances to the above mentioned committee.
  5. Food & Beverages: The catering-related arrangements for CGL 2026 shall be overseen by the Bar & Catering Committee, headed by Brig. T. S. Mundi.

  1. All teams will have a squad of 16 players, unless there is a shortfall in the pool after which the Organizing committee may reduce this number.
  2. Following members of The Chandigarh Golf Club are eligible to play in CGL:

  3. Each team owner will be entitled to nominate a maximum of 10 players in their team. The balance 06 players will be chosen from the Pool List during the player auction. The Auction purse available to each team will be 5,00,000 points only.
  4. In the 10 nominated players, each team must include the players as follows:
    1. Maximum 03 players from the Handicap category 0-9.
    2. Maximum 05 players from the Handicap category 10-18.
    3. 01 player from Gentlemen category, aged above 75 years.
    4. 01 player from Ladies category.
    In case a gentleman above 75 years of age and/or a lady member is a single digit handicapper, the core team may include additional members from the 10–18 handicap category.
  5. The balance 06 players can be selected from any category. Each team can have a maximum of Five (05) Single Handicap players.
  6. The teams will only consist of amateur golfers in accordance with the Rules of Amateur Status.
  7. A player selected from the Pool List cannot refuse to join a team. Any player refusing to join a team, will not be allowed to participate in the tournament and may be debarred from future leagues.
  8. Each player must play at least 02 games. Teams defaulting will get penalized Two (2) CGL points for every case of breach of this condition of play. The penalties will be taken into account while determining the Team Totals for the round-robin stage and for determining the top Two teams from each group.
  9. Once the draw for the CGL round robin stage is published, changes in the composition of any team will be permitted subject to following conditions:
    1. Outgoing player gives it in writing of his/her inability to continue due to medical reasons or due to any other exigency.
    2. Outgoing player therefore must also add that he/she relinquishes his/her rights to any prizes of CGL.
    3. Incoming player must not feature in the original squad of any team.
    4. Outgoing player will not be allowed to join any other playing team in the current edition.
    5. Incoming player must only be from the pool list.
  10. If a team owner, who is not playing for his/her own team and is playing for another team and gets into a situation where he/she has to play against the team that he/she owns, the Organizing Committee may request the owner to excuse himself/herself from play on that day to avoid any conflict of interest. However, he/she must play the required two games in the round robin stage.
  11. The Organizing Committee reserves the rights to consider or reject any such applications for any of the above points and the decision will be final and binding on all players / teams.

IV.

Format

  1. Singles & Modified Fourball Matchplay.
  2. The stipulated round will be up to 18-holes.
  3. All players (fourballs and singles) will enter the strokes individually in their score card. The outcome of a hole will be based on combined points recorded by a team based on the Stableford scoring system. The outcome of a game will be based on the number of holes won.
  4. Twelve (12) players will represent every team in each CGL Round.
  5. The tournament will be played initially in a round robin format, which will comprise of 24 teams divided in 4 groups of 6 teams each. Each team will play 5 matches in the Round Robin Stage.
  6. Two (2) Singles & five (5) pairs will play in a CGL match.
  7. Points will be awarded to a player based on Net Stableford scoring system which is as follows:

    A hole will be decided based on the number of points earned. In fourball games, the combined points scored by a team will be counted towards deciding the outcome of hole and subsequently the game.
  8. One point will be awarded for a win, 0.5 point for a tie, and no point for a loss in every CGL game. The top 2 teams from each group will qualify for the Quarterfinals Stage based on CGL Points as defined in detail in Point IX.

  9. The Tournament Committee reserves the right to send an independent marker with one or all games on the different match days to record the gross scores of the participating players.
  10. In case the singles players and/or two or more pairs have the same handicaps; the team captain must share their order preference. The line ups must be submitted in a closed envelope and must include all player handicaps without fail, as the games will be played as low to high in ascending order.

V.

Handicapping

  1. Each player will start CGL 2026 based on his/her handicap at the end of CGL 2025. In case a player's club handicap is higher than his/her CGL 2025 handicap, an upward revision of not more than two strokes will be permitted. Handicap may be changed only on valid medical grounds and after consultation between the Handicap Committee and the Organising Committee. The decision conveyed after such consultation shall be final.
  2. An upward revision before the start of CGL 26 can be permitted by the handicapping committee but it will not exceed the previous handicap by more than Two (2) strokes. However, in the case of player with single digit handicap, an upward revision of only One (1) stroke will be permitted.
    1. For all players having an onboard handicap and who did not play in CGL 2025; their Handicaps will be calculated as on 31.05.2026.
    2. The list of the final Handicaps will be officially declared by 16.06.2026 & the decision of the CGL Organizing Committee for handicaps will be final.
    3. The handicaps may be further revised subject to exceptional performance in the Independence Day Cup which is likely to conclude after 16.6.2026.
  3. For players whose tee box has changed their handicap will stay the same as mentioned above.
  4. For any players celebrating their birthday during the tournament days and becoming eligible to change tee boxes, change will not be permitted.
  5. Max. Permitted handicap (18 holes) will be 18 for Gentlemen & 24 for Ladies.
    Players above these handicaps can register for CGL but will play off the maximum handicap mentioned.
  6. The stroke allowance will be 90 % of the player's CGL handicap.
  7. Members not having an official handicap and are desirous of playing in CGL 2026 are advised to submit 10 valid score cards till 16.06.2026.
  8. A dynamic handicapping system (DHS) will be in place for in-tournament handicap adjustments.
  9. The threshold to trigger a change in the player's CGL handicap is provided in the table below:

  10. Handicaps will be reduced as per the player's 18 hole score. For instance, if a player has a starting handicap of 10, he/she gets nine (9) strokes for the round. If he/she scores 39 points, his/her's revised handicap will be 8 and he/she will start the subsequent round with that handicap. He/she will get seven (7) strokes as per point V.6 above.
  11. The CGL Organising Committee reserves the right to review and revise the handicaps of any player/players at any point of time during the tournament.
  12. The change in handicap will apply from the next/subsequent match.
  13. For games completed before 18th hole, an extrapolation method will be used for the Stableford points over 18 holes. For instance, if a game is over on the 14th hole and a player has scored 22 points, his/her 18-hole score will be 28 points. Points will be rounded up or down.
  14. The same system will be followed for all subsequent CGL Rounds, right until the League final.
  15. There will be no upward revision of CGL 2025 handicaps.

Tees

Blue TeesAll Gentlemen players below the age of 50 years will play from the Blue Tees.
White TeesAll Gentlemen players 50 years & above & below 65 years will play from the White Tees.
Green TeesAll Gentlemen players 65 years & above will play from the Green Tees.
Red TeesAll Lady Players will play from the Red Tees.

The course handicap for various tees is worked out on the basis of the USGA handicap index.

VII.

Time of Registration & Start

  1. Registration of Teams: The Team Owner/ Captain/ Advisor must submit their playing Team at least 30 minutes before the start of the first game on the playing day. This can be done by uploading on the App and/or by physical submission, including the name of the Advisor / Advise giver.
  2. If any team fails to do upload / submit their details of the team in time, they shall be penalized as under:
    1. Late Submission between 30-15 minutes before the scheduled tee off time – Loss of first hole for all 7 games.
    2. Non submission within 14-0 minutes before scheduled tee off – Loss of Two holes in all 7 games.
  3. Representation of a Team / Pair: A side may be represented by one partner for all or any part of the game/match. An absent partner may join a game between holes but not during play of a hole.
  4. Start of Play (Rule 5.3A)
    1. The Players representing a side must be on the Tee at least five (5) minutes before their tee off time.
    2. If a playing side does not tee off within 5 minutes after their scheduled tee off time, the absent side will be penalized for failure to start in time with a penalty of loss of first hole in the game. If the team does not show up in 15 minutes of starting, it will be disqualified from that game.

VIII.

Suspension of Play (Rule 5.7)

  1. In the event of bad weather / bad light, the organizing committee under the Chairman CGL will decide to call off the play and their decision in this regard shall be final. The endeavor of the Tournament Committee would be to utilize maximum daylight hours available for play for the round robin stage as well as the reserve day whenever necessary.
  2. In the Round Robin Stage:
    1. Points will be awarded as is usual practice for all completed games.
    2. Points will be shared for games which have not completed 9 holes, despite all efforts to complete the game.
    3. For all other games which have completed 9 holes but a decisive result is yet to be achieved, the match status at the time of suspension of play will determine the result and points awarded to the leading team accordingly.
    4. It is the intent of CGL 2026 to complete all league matches. A weekly reserve day will be therefore available during the league stage. The reserve day may be used as deemed appropriate at the sole discretion of the Organizing Committee.
    5. Result of the match to be tabulated as per the above points (a+b+c) above in the case play is not possible on the reserve day for any reason whatsoever at the sole discretion of the Tournament Committee.
  3. In the Knock Out Stage: If for any reason, such as bad weather/bad light, the play cannot be completed on the day of the competition, the play will be halted and resumed on another day or as determined by the Organizing Committee. The games not completed will have to be restarted from the hole where it was left off. If a player is not available at the time of resumption, he may be replaced by anyone who had not played in the match.
  4. For the Final: There is a reserve day for the final during which an incomplete match can be completed in a manner similar to as detailed for the Knock Out Stage above. In case the final cannot be completed on the reserve day for any reason whatsoever the trophy will be shared by the 2 finalists. The decision of the CGL Organizing Committee in this matter will be final.

IX.

Scoring & Result of Matches

  1. Only scores of the CGL Rounds will be used for DHS purposes.
  2. One player from each side must upload the hole-by-hole score to the CGL mobile application (app) after each hole. Only the gross score should be entered.
  3. CGL is a match play event, however, opposing teams are required to record each of the opponents score like in stroke play on the scorecard.
  4. It is mandatory to share each player's score with the independent observer stationed at the end of the hole. In case the Independent Observer is not available, the player must update the score in the App before teeing off on the next hole.
  5. In the event, a player's ball not being in contention, he/she will get zero points.
  6. For the League / Round Robin Stages, the CGL Game Points at the end of each Game will be allocated as under:

  7. At the end of the round robin stage, if there is a tie for a position between two or more teams in the CGL Game Points, the tie will be decided in the following sequence:
    1. Head-to-Head result on their CGL Match (if there are only 2 teams in the tie)
    2. Overall Games Won or halved
    3. Overall Net Stableford totals.
    4. A play-off by one pair from the tied Teams will be initiated. If there is still a tie, the result will be decided by sudden death.
    5. The playoff holes will be Hole #1, 17 & 18 in that order. The same hole sequence would be used for sudden death.
  8. The points of a match will be considered "officially announced" as soon as the all games of the match is completed and both the playing pairs have signed on the game scorecard at the designated scoring area within 15 minutes from the end of their game.
  9. In the Knockout Stage and Finals of the Competition, If the teams are tied after the completion of the CGL Match, the team captain will nominate two players to form a team and play doubles that have played that day to play a three-hole playoff. In case, there is no result after the conclusion of the three holes, the playoff will continue till one of the team wins (sudden death). The playoff scoring will also be based on Stable Ford format & Combined Score of two players will be taken in deciding the outcome of the hole and the match.
  10. For all playoffs, the order will be as per Point IX.7 (e)
  11. Team with best Fair Play record may be awarded.
  12. Difference of handicap will be applicable for the first three playoff holes. The sudden death will be from the fourth playoff hole onwards.
  13. The Tournament Committee's decision on all operational matters of the league shall be final.

X.

Advice (Rule 24.4)

  1. Each team is welcome to have coaches, mentors or advisors to support the team. However, for CGL 2026, only one nominated Advice giver, whose name has been given at the time of registration (VII.1), is permitted to talk to his team members between green to tee only. Advisor to use cart alone without any sharing.
  2. The advisor is not permitted on the tee, fairways or greens during the course of play i.e., tee to-green of any hole.
  3. Penalty for breach of condition: At the conclusion of the hole where the breach is discovered, the game score will be adjusted by deducting One hole per breach. Maximum deduction per round – loss of 2 holes. Despite the maximum deduction, if the breach continues with the full knowledge of the player, the penalty is disqualification from the match & no points will be allotted.

Transportation

Players are allowed to use transportation (carts) during their CGL game if they are able to arrange / book their carts.

XII.

Dress Code

  1. All teams need to wear their team T-shirts during all their matches. Teams can have multiple designs but on a particular match day, all the twelve (12) players need to be wearing the same T-shirts. Caddies must wear League Bibs as mandated by the Organizing Committee.
  2. All teams are required to wear T-shirts bearing the CGL team logo unit and the Title Sponsor's logo, as notified by the Organizing Committee, throughout the match. The CGL team logo shall be displayed on the right chest of the T-shirt. Players not wearing the prescribed logo unit will not be permitted to tee off.
  3. The Tournament logo unit shall be displayed on the left chest of the T-shirt, strictly in accordance with the merchandise guidelines issued by the Organizing Committee.

XIII.

Substitutes

  1. No alteration will be made to the team once the Tournament Committee has announced the final team list.
  2. Exception - should a nominated or pool player be unable to play the mandatory number of round robin games for reasons of any infectious disease, accident or any other reasonable cause, substitution may be made subject to the CGL Organising Tournament Committee approval.

    The team will be allowed to choose a substitute player from the registered Pool List only. No player will be allowed to be chosen from outside the Pool List, irrespective whether a nominated or a pool player is being substituted.
  3. A player released from a team will not be added back to the Pool List.

XIV.

Competition Cancelled or Altered

The Committee reserves the right to modify/change any Condition of Competition issue at any time. The Committee may also reduce or cancel any stipulated round, suspend or postpone play, cancel the competition, or take an equitable decision to achieve a result.

Rules Officials (Rule 20)

  1. The Professional agency will appoint Rules Officials. Should a claim be made or should a Rules Official desire clarification before a decision is made, the Rules Official, at his/her sole discretion, may consult the Organizing Committee, after which the Rules Official will give his/her decision and such decision is final.
  2. All participants are expected to conduct themselves in a befitting manner. Please note that any misbehavior or non-adherence to the Rules Official will be treated as gross misconduct and will be dealt appropriately.

XVI.

Pace of Play Policy (Rule 5.6)

  1. CGL has adopted a defined "Pace of Play Policy". All teams will have to adhere to the time sheet carrying the time permitted for every hole.
  2. The first match on each matchday will begin at 8:00 AM from Tee #1.
  3. In all CGL matches, there will no Refreshment breaks. Food and refreshments may be procured and carried from designated areas.
  4. Rules Officials on the field of play will determine the appropriate action in case a game is way behind schedule. Such a ruling will be final and all teams will have to adhere to the same.

XVII.

Course Marshals

Marshals shall be deputed to ensure a proper pace of play. All players are requested to cooperate with the marshals. Any misconduct or misbehavior towards the marshals shall be viewed seriously and may invite disciplinary action.

XVIII.

Draws

  1. The draws once finalized and circulated, shall not be changed.
  2. At the end of Round Robin stage, the top 2 teams from each group will qualify for the quarter finals.
  3. All eight (8) qualified teams will be ranked in descending order of CGL Points and the knockout draw would follow where P1 will play P8, P2 will play P7, P3 will play P6 and P4 will play P5.
  4. In case of a tie in ranking, the tie-break system mentioned under Clause IX.8 shall be followed.

XIX.

Caddie

The Caddie fee is INR 600/- for the game. Tips if any, are at the players discretion.
Any Caddie refusing to carry a bag will run the risk of being suspended.

XX.

Disqualification

A penalty of disqualification for a breach of the Rules or the Conditions of Play applies only to the stipulated round in which the breach occurred unless otherwise determined by the Committee. Any player or marker found cheating, misinforming, or incorrectly entering scores shall be subject to disciplinary proceedings, which may include disqualification from the game, match and/or the tournament.

XXII.

Player Conduct

All teams and players, whether on or off the course, are expected to uphold the highest standards of sportsmanship and show respect toward fellow players, as well as members and guests of CGC. Any untoward incidents will be strictly dealt with by the CGL Organizing Committee. The teams in question will be docked 3 (Three) CGL points for every misconduct and may also result in player suspensions, fines or any other penalty as determined by the CGL Organizing Committee. The decision of the Committee will be final.

Disclaimer

All nominated team players agree that there are certain risks inherent in the game of golf and all participants accept personal and sole liability for all such risks. The Chandigarh Golf Club, its committee, The Chandigarh Golf League and its technical conduct team will not be liable for any damage/injury caused during the conduct of the CGL.

II.

Conduct of Tournament

  1. The Club will hire a professional agency for event management. All technical conduct — course markings, tee box & pin placements — is the agency's sole responsibility.
  2. Tournament Committee under Dr. Atul Sachdev oversees CGL 2026. Composition and Tournament Director will be announced before the league begins.
  3. Organizing Committee (members do not participate in CGL 2026): Dr. Atul Sachdev · Mr. N P S Aulakh · Mr. Ravi Virk · Brig. H S Gill · Mr. S P S Ghai · Ms. Shona Manco · Mr. Amarbir Singh Lehal (Honorary Secretary) · Mr. Jaspratap Sekhon.
  4. Protest: Must be filed within 1 hour of game completion with a deposit of ₹10,000 (non-refundable) + GST. The Organizing Committee's decision is final and binding.
  5. Food & Beverages are overseen by the Bar & Catering Committee under Brig. T. S. Mundi.

  1. All teams have a squad of 16 players (may be reduced if pool is short).
  2. Eligible member categories include: Permanent (Resident/Outstation/Sr. Citizen), Green Card, Mid-Week, NRI, Senior Non-Voting, Spouse, Tenure, Corporate, and Honorary Members.
  3. Each owner nominates up to 10 players. The remaining 6 are chosen at the player auction. Auction purse: 5,00,000 points.
  4. Nomination requirements within the 10:
    • Max 3 players — Handicap 0–9
    • Max 5 players — Handicap 10–18
    • 1 Gentleman aged above 75 years
    • 1 Lady member
    If the gentleman above 75 and/or the lady member is a single-digit handicapper, the core team may substitute additional 10–18 handicap members accordingly.
  5. The 6 auction picks can come from any category. Max 5 single-digit handicap players per team.
  6. All players must be amateurs as per the Rules of Amateur Status.
  7. A pool player cannot refuse to join a team — refusal results in exclusion and possible debarment from future leagues.
  8. Each player must play at least 2 games. Breach: penalty of 2 CGL points per instance, counted in round-robin standings.
  9. Post-draw team changes require: (a) written confirmation from outgoing player citing medical or other exigency; (b) outgoing player relinquishes prize rights; (c) incoming player not in any original squad; (d) outgoing player cannot join another team; (e) incoming player must come from the pool list.
  10. If a team owner playing for another team faces their own team, the Committee may excuse them from that day's play, provided they still fulfil the two-game minimum.

Format

  1. Singles & Modified Fourball Matchplay. Stipulated round: up to 18 holes.
  2. All players enter individual strokes on the scorecard. Hole outcome = combined Stableford points. Game outcome = holes won.
  3. 12 players represent each team per CGL Round. Lineup: 2 Singles + 5 Pairs.
  4. Round-robin: 24 teams → 4 groups of 6, each team plays 5 matches.
  5. Net Stableford scoring:

Handicapping

  1. Starting handicap = end-of-CGL-2025 handicap. Upward revision max 2 strokes if club handicap is higher. Changes only on medical grounds, with Committee approval.
  2. Pre-tournament upward revision: max 2 strokes (max 1 stroke for single-digit players). Players not in CGL 2025 use handicap as of 31 May 2026. Final list declared 16 Jun 2026.
  3. Max permitted handicap: 18 (Gentlemen) · 24 (Ladies). Higher-handicap players play off the maximum. Stroke allowance: 90% of CGL handicap.
  4. Members without an official handicap must submit 10 valid scorecards by 16 Jun 2026.
  5. A Dynamic Handicapping System (DHS) operates throughout the tournament.
  6. Handicap correction thresholds:

Course handicap for all tees is calculated on the basis of the USGA handicap index. Tee box changes due to birthdays during the tournament are not permitted.

VII.

Time of Registration & Start

  1. Team lineup must be submitted (via App or physically) at least 30 minutes before the first game, including the Advisor's name.
  2. Late submission penalties:
    • 30–15 mins before tee-off: Loss of first hole in all 7 games.
    • 14–0 mins before tee-off: Loss of two holes in all 7 games.
  3. A side may be represented by one partner. An absent partner may join between holes, not during play of a hole.
  4. Players must be on the tee 5 minutes before scheduled tee-off. Delay beyond 5 mins → loss of first hole. No-show after 15 mins → disqualification from that game.

VIII.

Suspension of Play

  1. Bad weather/bad light: the Organizing Committee decides to call off play. Decision is final.
  2. Round Robin: Completed games → normal points. Games under 9 holes → points shared. Games 9+ holes with no decision → match status at suspension determines result. A weekly reserve day is available at the Committee's discretion.
  3. Knockout Stage: Play is halted and resumed from the same hole on another day. Unavailable players may be replaced by anyone not already in that match.
  4. Final: Reserve day available. If final cannot be completed, the trophy is shared between finalists. Committee's decision is final.

IX.

Scoring & Result of Matches

  1. Only CGL Round scores count for DHS purposes.
  2. One player per side uploads the hole-by-hole gross score to the CGL app after each hole.
  3. Opposing teams record each other's scores as in stroke play. Score must be shared with the independent observer at the end of each hole (or entered in the App before next tee-off).
  4. Ball not in contention = zero Stableford points.
  5. Match is "officially announced" once all games finish and playing pairs sign scorecards at the designated area within 15 minutes of game end.
  6. Tie-breaking sequence (round robin):
    1. Head-to-head result (two-team ties)
    2. Overall Games Won or Halved
    3. Overall Net Stableford totals
    4. Playoff by one pair → sudden death if still tied
    5. Playoff holes: 1, 17, 18 in that order; same sequence for sudden death
  7. Knockout/Finals tie: captain nominates two players for a three-hole doubles playoff (Stableford, combined score). Continues as sudden death if needed. Handicap difference applies for first 3 holes; sudden death from hole 4 onwards.
  8. Fair Play record — best record may receive an award.
  9. Tournament Committee's decisions on all operational matters are final.

Advice (Rule 24.4)

  1. Only one nominated Advisor (registered at team submission) may talk to team members — and only between green and tee. Advisor uses a cart alone.
  2. Advisor is not permitted on the tee, fairways, or greens during play.
  3. Penalty: Deduction of 1 hole per breach. Maximum per round: 2 holes. Continued breach with full knowledge → disqualification from the match, zero points.

Transportation

Players may use golf carts during CGL games if they can arrange or book one independently.

XII.

Dress Code

  1. All 12 playing members must wear the same team T-shirt on each match day. Teams may have multiple designs across match days. Caddies must wear League Bibs.
  2. T-shirts must display the CGL team logo on the right chest and the Title Sponsor's logo. Players without the prescribed logo cannot tee off.
  3. The Tournament logo goes on the left chest, per merchandise guidelines issued by the Organizing Committee.

XIII.

Substitutes

  1. No team changes once the final team list is announced.
  2. Exception: If a player cannot play the mandatory games due to infectious disease, accident, or reasonable cause, the Committee may approve a substitute — from the registered Pool List only, regardless of whether a nominated or pool player is being replaced.
  3. A released player will not be re-added to the Pool List.

Competition Cancelled or Altered

The Committee may modify any Condition of Competition at any time. It may also reduce or cancel any stipulated round, suspend or postpone play, cancel the competition, or take an equitable decision to achieve a result.

Rules Officials (Rule 20)

  1. The professional agency appoints Rules Officials. Officials may consult the Organizing Committee before a ruling — their decision is final.
  2. All participants must conduct themselves appropriately. Misbehavior or non-adherence to a Rules Official constitutes gross misconduct.

Pace of Play Policy (Rule 5.6)

  1. All teams adhere to the official time sheet for each hole.
  2. First match each matchday: 8:00 AM from Tee #1.
  3. No refreshment breaks. Food may be carried from designated areas.
  4. Rules Officials determine action for games falling behind schedule. Their ruling is final.

Course Marshals

Marshals ensure proper pace of play. All players must cooperate with marshals. Misconduct toward a marshal will be viewed seriously and may invite disciplinary action.

  1. Draws once circulated cannot be changed.
  2. Top 2 from each group advance to the Quarter Finals (8 teams total).

Caddie

Caddie fee: INR 600 per game. Tips are at the player's discretion. A caddie refusing to carry a bag risks suspension.

Disqualification

Disqualification for a rules breach applies only to the stipulated round in which the breach occurred, unless the Committee decides otherwise. Any player or marker found cheating, misinforming, or incorrectly entering scores will face disciplinary proceedings — including possible disqualification from the game, match, and/or tournament.

XXII.

Player Conduct

All teams and players — on or off the course — must uphold the highest standards of sportsmanship and respect toward fellow players, members, and guests of CGC. Any untoward incident is dealt with by the Organizing Committee. Teams are docked 3 CGL points per misconduct and may face player suspensions, fines, or other penalties. The Committee's decision is final.
