Chandigarh, October 8: The GB Realty Chandigarh Golf League 2026 delivered another day of high-quality team golf at The Chandigarh Golf Club, with Pirates of the Greens producing a stunning turnaround against Canam Raptors, while defending champions The Mulligans and GD Aces continued their winning runs. Soaring Eagles also secured their first victory of the campaign in a closely fought encounter with Birdie Brigade.
The biggest turnaround of the day came from Pirates of the Greens, who bounced back from their opening-day 3–4 defeat to The Mulligans with a commanding 6–1 victory over Canam Raptors. The Pirates swept both singles, with Raghav Bhandari winning 5&4 and Amarinder Brar winning 2&1. They then carried that momentum into the pairs, winning four of the five games. Amandeep Bath & Paramjit Singh produced the day’s biggest Pirates victory, winning 7&6, while M P Singh & Col. Gurbir Singh Gill and Col. Gurpreet Singh & Manistha Rao both secured narrow 1 Up wins. The Raptors’ lone point came from Col. N P Singh & M P S Mann, who won 4&2.
The Mulligans continued their impressive start, making it two wins from two with a 5.5–1.5 victory over Fairway Comets. The defending champions once again showed their strength in the singles, winning both games by 2&1 and 2 Up, with Dr. Angad Sangha collecting his second singles victory of the campaign. The Mulligans added three more full points in the pairs, including A P S Kahai & Sunder Singh’s 4&2 win and Himmat Singh and partner’s 3&1 victory. The Comets’ only full point came from Simran Singh & Sehaj Bir Singh Sidhu (3&2), while the final game was halved after a last-hole finish.
Soaring Eagles emerged victorious in the day’s closest team battle, edging Birdie Brigade 4–3. The Eagles took both singles, with Amrik Randhawa winning 1 Up after taking the 18th and Puneet Sood winning 2 Up. In the pairs, Bikramjit Bhinder & Himmat Mahal delivered the Eagles’ standout performance with an emphatic 8&6 victory. Birdie Brigade fought back strongly with three pairs wins, but the Eagles’ perfect start in the singles ultimately proved decisive.
In Group B, GD Aces made it two wins from two, defeating Partee Panthers 5–2. Tarun Vir Singh Lehal won 4&3, while Mivaan Singh continued his strong form with a commanding 6&5 victory. The Aces then added three pairs points, including Gursharan Grewal & Akshay Verma’s 7&6 win, Rupinder Singh & Swaraj Pal Singh’s 5&3 victory, and a dramatic 1 Up win for Rao Brinder Sidhu & Varun Rao, who took the final hole after their opponents had levelled the match on the 17th. Partee Panthers claimed their two points through Amarjot Singh Bedi & Harjeet Singh (3&2) and Simarinder Singh & Kewal Singh Virk (7&6).
With another round of matches completed, the competition is beginning to take shape, with teams building momentum, fighting back from early setbacks and looking to establish themselves as strong contenders as the League progresses.
